Anna Lee Roberts, 94-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO departed this life Sunday, August 4, 2019 in Doniphan, MO. Mrs. Roberts was born April 13, 1925 to the late Alpha and Delia Smith Magruder. She graduated Doniphan High School in 1942 and worked at the Ripley County Family Services office from 1942-1950. She then became a stay at home mom after the birth of her son. She re-entered the work force working for John Belew, Attorney-at-Law from 1962-1976. She also helped her husband operate their business Roberts Brothers Sporting Goods. Anna Lee was an avid golfer and loved playing bridge. She had been a member of the First Baptist Church in Doniphan since 1936 and had taught Sunday School Classes for over 50 years.
On January 4, 1945 Mrs. Roberts was married to Paul Roberts in Corning, AR. He preceded her in death May 18, 2010. Also preceding her in death were sisters, Oleta Tanner and Elnora Pulliam; and brothers, Woodrow, Waldo, and Roderick Magruder.
She is survived by 1 son, Greg Roberts of Lexington, TN.
Funeral services for Anna Lee Roberts will be held Thursday, August 8, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Doniphan, MO at 1:00 PM with Rev. Wade Rogers officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, August 7, 2019 from 5-8 PM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Doniphan Cemetery.
