John is the son of James Samuel Fruit and Martha Clark-Fruit, he was born in Randolph County North Carolina circa 1784. John married Elizabeth "Betsy" Gray on 28 September 1808 in Christian, Kentucky they are the parents of two children. John Fruit died on 20 August, 1817 only two month after his youngest son John Gray Fruit was born.
