David was the 4th child and cherished only son of David Batchelor, Sr. and Kathleen Haran Batchelor. He grew up with his family in Pompano Beach Florida. He was a proud graduate of Cardinal Gibbons High School.
David loved the water, be it beach, river or lake. He loved to swim and snorkel and was an avid fisherman, so when he joined the Navy right after high school, it seemed a natural fit. During his time in the Navy, David was stationed in Australia, Philippines, Japan and Diego Garcia- a tiny speck in the Indian Ocean that his mother marked with a big X on her globe so she could find it.
In the mid-90's, David made his way north and settled in the Ft. Walton Beach area, where he started a business and made many friends.
He is survived by his two sisters, four nieces and two nephews, two grand-nieces and three grand-nephews, scores of Irish and American cousins, his special friend, Cindy, and many friends in the Ft. Walton Beach area that loved and cared for him.
Dearest "Binka Buddy", you are now reunited with your sister, Colleen, your biggest fan, Mom and our Dad who fondly gave you that nickname. You know there will always be a place set for you at our table. May God bless you rest and your soul.
