Carl Van Gross, age 62, of Upper Chloe Creek in Pikeville, KY., passed from this life on Friday, October 11, 2019. Carl was born to the late Charlie Gross And Helen Conley Gross in Pike County, KY., February 24, 1957. Besides his father, Carl is preceded in death by his loving spouse, Josephine Gross; brother, Paul Gross; grandson, Matthew Justice. Carl is survived by his son, Charley Gross; daughter, Katie (Cleve) Justice; mother, Helen Gross; sisters, Pamela (Ricky) Ray, Cora (Tommy) Parker; granddaughters, Sarah and Karah Justice; devoted companion, Duke (Labrador) Gross; Half sisters, Nettie (Albert) Martsolf, Betty (Bill) Hicks. Carl was a loving father, son and husband. He was a faithful member of the Defiers Motorcycle Club. Carl will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him. The family will accept friends at the Thacker Memorial Chapel Sunday, October 13, 2019 beginning at 6PM. Funeral services will be Monday, October 14, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. with Donnie Hall officiating. Burial will follow at the Annie E. Young Cemetery at Pikeville, KY. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thacker Memorial Funeral Home of Pikeville, KY.
