LeRoy N. Ames of 151 Englewood Ave., West Hartford, died Wednesday [19 Jan 1955] at McCook Memorial Hospital. He was born in Haddam, Aug. 20, 1889. He was night foreman at the Royal Typewriter Co. 37 years. He was a member of St. Paul's Methodist Church and Hartford-Charter Oak Lodge No. 82, IOOF. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Mary Mizinski [Nizinski] Ames; two sons, Ora M. Ames and Paul L. Ames, both of Manchester; two daughters, Miss Mary F. Ames of West Hartford ancd [sic] Mrs. Peyton B. Bietz [Dietz] of Hartford, and two brothers, Frank Ames of Glastonbury and Ora Ames of Norwich. Funeral services will be held at the Taylor and Modeen Funeral Home, 233 Washington St., Saturday at 9:0 [sic] a.m. with burial in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Friends may call at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 1 to 3 and 7 to 9 p.m.
