Breckenridge - Roy Don Chandler, age 79, was born February 8, 1928, in Eastland, TX, and passed away July 6, 2007, in Odessa.

He was a resident of Odessa for 56 years, and a paint contractor for 30 years. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army from 1943 to 1948, serving in the 149th Tank Division, Company C.

The Lord has taken a dear man into His arms. He will be loved and missed by his family and friends; his stories everyone will remember. We miss you, Roy Don.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Roy and Katherine M. (Mitchell) Chandler, one brother, Edward F. Chandler, two sisters, Leona C. Barham, and Rhena W. Jones, a granddaughter, Sandy D. Nance, and a great-grandson, Roger C. Rogers, and a great-granddaughter, Kaitlen B. Parker.

He is survived by his wife, Virgie Bernice Clary Chandler; three sons, Roy, Eddie, and Cole Chandler; four daughters, Barbara Nance, and Brenda Kenney, all of Odessa; Linda Edwards of Fayetteville, TX; and Glenda Parshall of Brownstown, MI; 23 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2007, at Gunsight Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at Harpersville Cemetery in Breckenridge, TX.
