Ernest Anderson Sr., 95
West Haven -- Ernest L. Anderson Sr., 95, of 45 George Street, died Monday at the Sea Crest Nursing and Retirement Center after a long illness. He was the widower of Louise Behl Anderson.
Mr. Anderson was born in West Haven, October 2, 1892, son the late August and Albertine Turnquist Anderson and was a lifelong resident of West Haven.
He worked for the former New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad and the Penn Central Railroad for 52 years before retirement in 1959, where he was supervisor of the stores department.
He leaves a son, Ernest L. Anderson Jr. of West Haven; three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
A service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Beecher & Bennett-Seth Taylor Funeral Home, 410 Campbell Avenue. Burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park, Hamden.
Contributions may be made to the First Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 89 Center St. West Haven, Connecticut 06516.
