Jean Barnett, age 86 of Rothville, died Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Life Care Center of Brookfield. Jean was born in Rothville on April 20, 1933 to Charles A. and Lela Mary (Smith) Riddell. She married Lloyd French Barnett on June 30, 1951 and he survives her.
Jean had worked at Walsworth Publishing and later at Northwestern School in Mendon. She was a housewife, farmer, loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Mendon Christian Church and former member of the Westville Quilting Club.
She is survived by her husband French Barnett of Rothville, two sons, Stephen Barnett and Debra of Rothville, Alan Barnett of Mexico, MO, daughter Beverly Almond and Randy of Rothville, one brother Charles Riddell of Georgetown, TX, four sisters, Shirley Moore and Howard of Brookfield, Martha McMahill of Independence, Carolyn Gregory of Norfolk, VA, and Mary Linda Shannon and Jerry of Independence, sister-in-law JoAnna Grey of Bolivar, eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Jeremy Almond, and two brothers-in-law Leo McMahill and Larry Gregory.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 PM Sunday, October 13, 2019 at the Mendon Christian Church with visitation from 1:30 till time of service. Burial will be at a later date in Rothville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Rothville Cemetery and mailed to Delaney Funeral Home 1720 N. Missouri Ave., Marceline, MO 64658.
