At some date before the next census Michael married Catherine "Katie" Gallagher. At the 1891 census Michael is shown as the head of the family farm in Lot 27, living with wife Catherine, two of his siblings (Mary and John) and their widowed father.~ ~ ~In 1901 Michael and Catherine were still living on their Lot 27 farm. On April 18th 1901 the census enumerator described the property as a wood frame dwelling located on 48 owned acres in the community of Maple Plains. The enumerated residents and their declared dates of birth were: Michael (b:6-19-1859), Catherine (b:4-7-1864) and their 4 children - Margaret Jane (b:7-29-1893), Mary Anne (b:5-20-1895), Jeremiah Edward (b:6-18-1897) and Aloysius John (b:6-23-1899) and Michael's father James (b:10-20-1821). James declared he was born in Ireland, immigrating to Canada in 1841; all others were born in Prince Edward Island. On Sept 27 1905 daughter Cecilia Kathleen was born to Catherine and Michael.
