BALLINGER, Clyde, (Coon), 68, of Willis, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2000, at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gulliver G. and Effie S. Ballinger, and a sister, Irene Smith. He is survived by his wife, Dollie M. Ballinger of Willis; children and spouses, Phyllis J. and Carl Palmer of Roanoke, Frances and Merl Martin of Check, Clyde, Jr., and Jeannie Ballinger of Christiansburg, Jack and B. J. Ballinger of Christiansburg, Darlene and Ronald Shelor of Floyd, William Ballinger of Floyd, and Johnnie Ballinger of Floyd; 13 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Sylvia L. Keith of Warner Robbins, Ga., Lossie M. Dickerson of Ridgeway, Ward W. Ballinger of Willis, Robert W. Ballinger of Powers Springs, Ga., Helen Campbell of Florida, David G. Ballinger of Perry, Ga., and Calvin K. Ballinger of Warner Robins, Ga. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Gardner Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph Duncan officiating. Interment will follow in Ballinger Family Cemetery. Friends may call Friday at Gardner Funeral Home where the family will be from 6 until 8 p.m.
