He was a son of the late Frank L. Wells and Mildred Frances Burnet Wells. He was a radio broadcaster, a semi truck driver and owned Solid Gold Time Machine. He served during the Vietnam Era in the U.S. Army. He was a member the V.F.W in Hickory, N.C. and later the V.F. W. in Sumter and was a member of V.V.A. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-son, Dustin Trenton Redick and 2 sisters, Sharon King and Karen Wells. Surviving are his wife, Sara S. Wells; his son, Charlie Reese Wells and his wife Shelby; a step-daughter, Julie Harris and fiancé ,Tim Maddox ; a step-son, Hunter (Kelsy) Moore; a grandson, Colt Trenton Wells; step grandchildren, Emily Harris and companion Sara White, Brianna Harris, Haley Strappler, Kayla Campbell, Lauren (Johnathan) Tidwell and Slade Mixon; 4 brothers, Keith (Patricia) Wells, Kevin (Laurie) Wells, Chris (Celine) Wells and Michael Wells. Also surviving are his step brother-in-law, Jeff Strappler; mother-in-law, Dorothy Self Sullivan; special nieces and nephews, Jamie Gainey and companion, Tim Carmichael, Melody Shropshire and Adrian Sullivan.
