Johnny Ray Yates, of Georgetown, passed away on October 9, 2019.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 14, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Crestview Baptist Church in Georgetown, Texas. Pastor Dan Wooldridge will officiate. Military honors will be rendered by the United States Air Force on Tuesday, October 15, 2019, 2:00 p.m. at the Queen City Cemetery, Queen City, Texas. Visitors may visit with the family after each of the services.

Johnny was born to Elmer and Olice (McDuff) Yates on April 19, 1934 in Huffines, Texas. He married Mary (Coney) Yates on September 27, 1952 in Roswell, New Mexico.

Johnny served our country in the United States Air Force from 1951-1975. He worked as an Assistant Hospital Administrator at Mansfield General Hospital and he was also the General Manager for the Garden Court Nursing Home in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Crestview Baptist Church was Johnny's church home where he served as Deacon. He was also a member of Toastmasters.

Sheryl Babcock, Johnny's daughter, preceded him in death along with his parents and siblings.

Survivors include: wife, Mary Yates of Georgetown; son, Danny Yates of Golden Colorado; daughter, Terri Yates Kendrick of Georgetown; sister, Janice Ensley of Queen City, Texas; daughter-in-law, Lisa Hochstetler of Golden, Colorado; grandchildren: Dustin Yates, Jonathan R. Hamlet, John Oswald, Heather Hamlet, Nash Chandranatha, Hayden and Sona Metz.

Memorials in Johnny's name may be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America.
