Audrey M. Simmons was born in London, England on August 26, 1936, to William and Victoria Neve. She was raised in England with her sister Barbara and attended schools there. She ultimately earned Masters Degrees in Art and Fashion Design. While still in England she met the love of her life William Simmons who was serving in the US Air Force, and they were married on September 1, 1961. Shortly thereafter, William was transferred to California and the family moved there. William retired from the Air Fore in 1964 and then moved to Brewster in 1965, where they raised their family.
Audrey put her design creativity to use working as an interior designer for Brewster Interiors and for some other businesses as well.
Audrey is predeceased by her parents as well as her husband William who passed in 2000. She is also predeceased by her sister Barbara Lang. She is survived by two daughters, Melanie Ryder(Gary) of Dover Plains, and Jennifer Simmons. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Madison Fletcher(Craig), Tyler Parks, Amy Moor(Mitchell) and Cody Ryder. Also, one great-grandchild, Brooklyn Fletcher.
The family will be receiving friends and family at Beecher Funeral Home on Tuesday June 13, between the hours of 5 and 7pm. A service will take place on Wednesday June 14, at 10am, followed by a burial at Milltown Rural Cemetery in Brewster.
