Born in Greenville County, a son of the late James Troy Altom and the late Ethel Lucille Christopher Altom, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who enjoyed golfing, music, attending his church, and spending time with his family. Mr. Altom proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was a retired Sales Manager for Peter Pan Seafoods, Inc. after twenty-six years of service, a former member of the National Grocer's Association, and a devoted member of Rock Springs Baptist Church in Easley.
Surviving, in addition to his loving wife of thirty years, are sons, Joseph B. Altom (Charley) of Piedmont, Jason A. Bray (Kelli) of Easley, and Nicholas Bray (Heidi) of Piedmont; a daughter, Angela Wigington (Paul) of Piedmont; grandchildren, Charles Wigington (Kristen), Joshua Wigington (Sydney), Whittney Harnesberger (Joshua), Eli Wigington, Isaac Wigington, Mary Sullivan Altom, Campbell Bray, Bennett Bray, Nolan Bray, Britton Bray, Harlan Bray, and Briggs Bray; and great-grandchildren, Brylan, Charlotte, Riggs, and Thomas Wigington.
