He was born in Wellsville, Utah. He was the only son in a family of 5.

He was in the Army Corp of Engineers and helped build the Umatilla Dam in the Coloumbia River.

He married Sarah Elizabeth " Betty" Glant.

He raisied 4 children in Umatilla. Daughters, Betty Lou, ShariLee and Sons, Thomas A. and Allan W.

Betty died suddenly in 1986 of a stroke.

Harvey died of a heart attack- while he was cutting up Bingo cards for the local VFW, where he was a proud member. Selfless to the end.

Harvey was raised in the LDS church and even though he didn't attend in later years, he still lived the principles he was raised with- I didn't know it at the time but I saw it in hindsight.

He was my father-in-law and the finest human being I have ever known. A kinder, more gentle soul I never met. Never once did I see him upset or raise his voice. He never said no to any one in need and was always there when help was needed.

He truly lived a good and honourable life.

This was the poem on his memorial card:

"To Those I Love"

When I am gone, release me, let me go.
I have so many things to see and do.
You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears
Be happy that we had so many happy years.
I gave you my love, You can only guess
how much you gave to me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you have shown
But now it's time I traveled on alone.
So grieve awhile for me if grieve you must
Then let your grief be comforted by trust
It's only for awhile that we must part
So bless the memories with your heart.
I won't be far away, for life goes on
And if you need me, call and I will come
Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near
And if you listen with your heart, you'll hear
All my love around you soft and clear
And then, when you must come this way alone
I'll greet you with a smile, and
Welcome You Home.
