Guy was born in Izard county, grew up near the Lower Bone school, on Bayou creek, on a farm. He served in the US Navy during WWII. He married Pearlene Pugh around Mt. Pleasant, AR. They had children: Betty, Wanda, Roger, Sharon and Ronnie. There are many grandchildren and descendants living or deceased from each of these. by 1960, Guy and Pearlene and children had moved to Leachville, AR. Later, they divorced, and Guy stayed in Leachville, until his health declined and he moved to his son's home in Pope county. He died there, but was brought back to Leachville to be buried.

Gerald was spelled Jerril on the draft registration in 1940's. On the 1920 Census, Guy is listed as George G. Fleetwood.
