Albert L. "Al" Jones, Jr., 78, passed away Monday, August 29, 2005 at home.
He was retired from International Harvester with over 36 years of service.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge Springfield, served as head of Anthony and Chapter, Springfield Council, and Palestine 33, and York Rite Cross of Honor, and marched on Commandery Drill Team for 30 years.
He also was a member of Northridge Lions Club, Clark County Bass Association, Neptune Baptist Road Church in Florida and First Baptist Church in Springfield.
He loved gardening, fishing and playing cards.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Cleo Jones, one son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Melodie Jones of Westerville; grandchildren, Jonathan Jones, of Indianapolis, Indiana and Rebecca Jones, of Lynchburg, Virginia, and numerous nieces, nephews and many other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends Thursday, September 1, from 4-8 p.m. in the Jackson, Lytle Williams Funeral Home, North Limestone Street, with services there on Friday, September 2 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Jim Britton officiating. Entombment will follow in Rose Hill.
