Donald Ray "Donnie" Currie, Jr. was born on May 23, 1964 in Hearne, Texas to Donald Ray Currie, Sr. and Lillie Pearl Howard Currie.

He passed away into eternal life on Sunday, October 6, 2019 in The Woodlands at the age of 55 years.

Donnie received his education in Franklin and was a 1983 graduate of Franklin High School. Donnie was self employed in construction. He married Connie Cochrell on March 28, 2015. He was a life long resident of Robertson County and a member of the Franklin Church of Christ. Donnie loved his family and he loved God. One of the most pleasurable times of his life was baptizing his daughter, Reagan and his granddaughters, Kylah and Rylee.

Donnie had a love of fishing, the outdoors and attempting to rid Robertson County of wild hogs. As a young man Donnie fervently loved playing the drums. Music was ingrained in his life. Donnie's motto in life "I am still not the man I want to be but I thank God I'm not the man I used to be".

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Ray Currie, Sr. and Lillie Pearl "Tina" Howard Currie; and his niece, Kimberly Lynn Rushing.

He is survived by wife, Connie Currie of Franklin; daughters, Jordan Currie of Franklin, Carlye Michael of Somerville, Reagan Currie of Franklin and Victoria Lame of Montgomery; sons, Joshua Currie and Terry McDonald, II of Franklin; sisters, Becky Nichols of Wheelock and Lisa Corn of Hearne; brother, Steven Currie of Bryan; 10 grandchildren, Kylah Currie, Kinsley Currie, Kalynn Rodriguez, Braylee Weeks, Rylee McDonald, Shooter McDonald, Melody Lame, Wesley Lame, Ember Lame and Amber Lame. He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.

Services will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at the Franklin Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the Holly Cemetery in Ridge.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at McCauley Funeral Home in Franklin.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Franklin Church of Christ Carpenter's Tools, P. O. Box 1175, Franklin, TX 77856 or to the Hensel Christian Youth Camp, 7819 Singleton Bend, Marble Falls, TX 78654.
