Karen Sue (Sprecher) Minnick, 62, of Boonsboro, MD, passed away peacefully at her home under the care of Hospice on Tuesday, October 8, 2019. Born April 19, 1957 in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of Betty Lou (Shoemaker) Reid and the late Herbert Allen Sprecher. She married Steven Minnick on June 29th, 2002. She was a 1975 graduate of South Hagerstown High School. She was of the Methodist faith and attended St. Matthews United Methodist Church in Hagerstown for many years. She was an extremely proud mother and grandmother. She loved the sun, the beach, celebrating holidays with family, and being surrounded by friends. She enjoyed bowling and was a NASCAR fan. She was a member of the American Legion Post 10 in Boonsboro, MD. She is survived by her husband of seventeen years, Steven Minnick of Boonsboro, MD; three daughters, Autumn Allman and husband, Greg, of Houston, Texas, and Tasha Powell and Courtney Hull of Hagerstown, MD; two grandchildren, Maxine Fearnow also of Hagerstown, MD and Asa Allman of Houston, TX; mother, Betty Lou Reid of Boonsboro, MD; and three sisters Linda Foltz of Smithsburg, MD, Julie Scheihing of Hagerstown, MD, and Lisa King of Clearspring, MD. She was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Sprecher. Friends and family are invited to gather in celebration of her life at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD, on Saturday, October 12, 2019 from 2p.m. to 4p.m. in the afternoon.
