Clara Mae Lawson, Age-65 passed away at Signature Healthcare of Port Charlotte on Friday October 4th 2019. Clara was born on September 3rd 1954 in Norton, Virginia and has been a resident of Arcadia,FL since 1970.
She was a 1974 graduate of DeSoto High School and an active member of Church of God Prophecy. During her working years Clara worked as a safety deposit box clerk for a local bank. Clara enjoyed traveling, the beach, reading and just taking a drive. Clara also collected Coca-Cola memorabilia .
Clara is survived by three sisters, Mildred Johnson of Arcadia, FL; Jennifer Kennedy of Orlando, FL and Sharon (Keith) Griffin of Arcadia,FL. She is also survived by her special fur child Baby-the cat. She is also survived by ten nieces; six nephews; eight grandnieces and eight grandnephews. Clara is preceded in death by her parents Wiley and Loretta Lawson; Brothers, Buddy Lawson; Larry Lawson; Terry Lawson three sisters, Barbara Lawson, Mary Sue Riggs and Sandra Rutherford.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday October 9th from 12-1pm at the Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home 50 North Hillsborough Ave. Arcadia, FL where a funeral service will begin at 1:00pm. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Pastor Steve Griffin officiating.
