During WWII she worked in a Connecticut defense plant. Following the war, she worked in NY at the Daily News, and later worked at Korbrand Corporation until her retirement in 1988. She was a congregant of Apex United Methodist Church.
She was predeceased by her parents, Peter Scott Laurenson and Emily Jones Laurenson; her brother, Arthur Stuart Laurenson, and her husband of 61 years, Raymond Anthony Hughes. She was survived by a daughter and her spouse; a son and his spouse; a granddaughter; two grandsons; and a sister-in-law.
Interment on October 8, 2019.
