George A. Williamson Jr., 90, of Rodessa, LA passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at Walnut Hill Baptist Church in Vivian officiated by Bro. Barry Carter and Bro. Joey Grappe. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation on Tuesday, October 8th from 6-8 pm at Walnut Hill Baptist Church in Vivian.

Mr. Williamson was born March 11, 1929 in Rodessa, LA where he lived all of his life. He was a member of Walnut Hill Baptist Church. He was in the first person to ever receive a diploma from North Caddo High School in 1956, a month earlier than the rest of the graduating class because of his going in to the service in the Army. He loved woodworking, working as a mechanic, working on people’s appliances, cars, etc. He would create and design different toys and other things. He worked as a driver’s license examiner for the state. He will be remembered by everyone as a good, honest man, and he will be greatly missed by those who loved him.

George was preceded in death by his wife Frances Williamson, and his great grandchild Joelee Sprayberry and all of his siblings. He is survived by his 4 children; Dianne Vaughan of Rodessa, LA, James Williamson and wife Debbie of Rodessa, LA, Annie Humphrey and husband Gerald of Rodessa, LA, and George Williamson and wife Janice of Vivian, LA, his sister-in-law Annie Chapman, his 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and former pastor and special friend, Bro. J W Crow.

Pallbearers will be Jason Williamson, Justin Vaughan, Heath Williamson, Danny Sprayberry, Andy Vaughan, and Josh Welch. Honorary pallbearers are Gerald Humphrey, Charles Williamson, Luke Alexander, Cam Coulter, Cade Coulter, Caden Sprayberry, Donavan Vaughan, Casen Humphrey, Dusty Vaughan and Jeremy Clark.
