Mrs. Erma Lina Hawkins, 76, of Hamburg, AR in the Pine Hill Community died Saturday, October 5, 2019, at her home surrounded by her family. She was a lifelong resident of Ashley County, a homemaker, and a member of Holly Spring Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Clifton Hawkins in 2015, a daughter Nannette Hawkins-Green in 1988, her parents, Fred and Lovie Womack-Gibbs, a sister, Elena Davis; and three brothers, Lindberg, Billy, and Elvin Gibbs. Erma was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed family gatherings and cooking for them, and fishing.
She is survived by one son, Clifford Hawkins, wife Linda, of Hamburg, AR; three daughters, Sherri Hawkins-Goldsby, husband Greg, Ameera Hawkins, both of Hamburg, AR, and Gwendolyn Hawkins, of Camden, AR; three brothers, Richard Gibbs, wife Annie, of Hamburg, AR, James Gibbs, and Sherman Gibbs, both of Crossett, AR; one special sister Vickie Scott, husband Michael, of Crossett, AR; eight grandchildren, Latesha, Lorenzo, Demtria, Antionette, Amorette, Laurente, Toney, and Ceyda; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
Service will be Friday, October 11, 2019, 11:00 am, at Holly Springs Baptist Church, Pine Hill Community in Hamburg, with Rev. David Bouie, Sr. officiating. Active Pallbearers are Benard Martin, Ronnie Gibbs, Perry Williams, Elvis Davis, Lee Highes, and Willie Daniels. Honorary Pallbearers are the members of Crooked Creek Hunting Club. Burial in Carlock Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 10, 2019, 6-7 p.m., at Cromwell Funeral Home.
