Greenville – Johnny Leo Sutton, 57, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2019.

The funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 7pm at Greenville Church of God. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5-7pm. A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday at 11am in Pinewood Memorial Park.

John was born March 16, 1962 in Carteret County to the late Leo and Eloise Willis Sutton.

He lived his early years in Salter Path and moved to Greenville as a small child. John was a small business owner for years, operating Sutton Tree Services, where he worked beside his father and brothers. In his spare time, he could be found either golfing with his buddies Joe, Phil and Chris, or hunting.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Myrna Byrd and Leola Cox.

John is survived by his beautiful wife, Beth, whom he loved dearly; his gorgeous daughters, Brittany and fiancé Dave Boyd of Greenville and Sarah Catron and husband Aaron of Wytheville, VA; his handsome son, Phillip Bunn and wife Lindsey of Greenville; his precious grandchildren, Isabella Boyd, Hailee, Ellie, Liam and Braylen Catron, Hayden, Julianna and Aubree Bunn; his faithful companion, Zero; sisters, Faye Millaway, Loretta Cherry and husband Jack, Suzanne Baker, and Pam Garris and husband Randy, all of Greenville; brothers, Danny Sutton and Jimmy Sutton and wife Tina of Farmville; brothers-in-law, Greg Hackett and Joseph Hackett and wife Gina of Goldsboro, Robert “Buddy” Cox and Edward Byrd, both of Greenville; and many nieces and nephews.
