A memorial service will be held at noon December 23 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, with the Rev. James Boston officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium. Chapel of the Valley-L.B. Hall Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Cannon was born March 11, 1936, in Pomona, California. He grew up in San Juan Capistrano, California, and other areas in Orange County, California. On December 19, 1958, in Long Beach, California, he married Josephine E. Caithamer, who survives.
He joined the U.S. Air Force, but was released early to assist with his family's egg ranch. In 1978, he moved to Grants Pass and then moved to Beaverton four years later. He returned to Grants Pass July 20, 2004, from Aloha. He was a mechanical engineer and designed heating, plumbing and air conditioning systems.
He attended St. Luke's Episcopal Church. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Pomona, California. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and coin collecting.
In addition to his wife, survivors include three daughters, a son, and 12 grandchildren.
