Robert Lee Bonner, Sr., 68 of Dunwoody, died April 15, 1999. Mr. Bonner was the son of Andy Lee and Inez Davis Bonner and was born in Glencoe, AL. He was an active member of Dunwoody Baptist Church where he served as an ordained deacon. usher, church moderator, and teacher of men's adult bible fellowship. Mr. Bonner was a veteran of the Korean War and was a graduate of Mercer University in Macon where he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. He was preceded in death by his brother, William Bonner and is survived by his wife Irene Breland Bonner, children Robert Lee Bonner, Jr., Ruth Bonner Tomlinson, Kimberly Bonner Tardy, Becky Halford, Jim Halford, nine grandchildren, who affectionately knew him as "Big Bob", sisters Ann Bonner Covington of Colonial Heights, VA, Sue Bonner Shields of Fairburn, GA, and several nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to Dunwoody Baptist Church. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 o'clock at Dunwoody Baptist Church with Dr. Denny Spears, Dr. Jim Johnson and Rev. Jim Mustain officiating. Interment Arlington Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 to 8 o'clock at H.M. Patterson & Son, Oglethorpe Hill Chapel, 4550 Peachtree Rd.
