Mr. Arthur Dean Bennett, Sr. 86, of Union Springs, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at his residence. He was born on July 16, 1933 in Russell County Alabama to Maxie Bennett and Lessie Humphrey Bennett.

He confessed Christ at an early age and attended Wayman Chapel A.M.E. Church in U n ion Springs, Alabama. Arthur was educated in the Bullock County School System. He was a veteran of the Korean War in the United States Air Force. He was self-employed as an Electrician.

He was preceded in death by his parents Maxie Bennett, Lessie Humphrey Bennett, and Rev. L. F. Fortson; two sisters: Jean B. Thomas and Rosel Miles; and one son, Gregory Terrell Battle.

He leaves to cherish his memory: a partner of 36 years; two daughters; eight sons; a daughter-in-law; one sister; one sister-in-law; one brother-in-law; nineteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends

Public visitation will be held Friday, March 1, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Carter Funeral Home, 109 Holcombe Avenue, Union Springs, Alabama.

Celebration of Life Services will be held Saturday, March 2, 2019, at 2:00 PM at Wayman Chapel AME Church, 105 Cooper Street, Union Springs, Alabama. The pastor. Ronald C. Smith will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow at the Walton Chapel Methodist Cemetery, Aberfoil Community, 14405 US-29 in Union Springs, Alabama. Arrangements by Carter Funeral Home, 109 Holcombe Avenue, Union Springs, Alabama.
