Solomon’s Song: “many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it” 8:7
Melissa Ann Trent Phillips died unexpectedly in Elko, NV on September 27, 2019. She is mother to Hannah Phillips and daughter to Charles and Janice Vicars Trent. Following her wishes, she will be cremated in Elko and returned to her daughter and her mother. Melissa seemed to follow the road less traveled and was blessed to have been so gifted with quick wit and could spot a 4-leaf clover in a 40 acre field. Missy graduated from Kingsport Christian Academy in the Year of our Lord Nineteen Hundred Eighty-Two, their very first graduating class, attended Walter State Community College Morristown Campus and Draughon’s Junior College, Kingsport. Melissa was privileged to have worked for Congressman James H. Quillen’s First Congressional District, Kingsport Office, for several years and upon his retirement, she worked for him at his private sector business, Kingsport Development. Now she will never hunger, never thirst, nor grow old, nor be homeless. She is home at last. Missy’s spirit has been set free from earthly bonds and she is reunited with her husband, Ronald “Beagle” Phillips and her father, Charles. Above all else, she is with her Savior whom she accepted and obediently followed in baptism on October 29, 1972. She will be forever in the hearts of those she called friend, aunt, uncle or cousin. Rest in peace our sweet, we WILL meet again. God promised it and we believe it. Friends and family will be contacted when a memorial service is arranged.
