Austin, Texas, August 7, 2019 – On July 27, emergency crews received the request for assistance at approximately 1:40 a.m. regarding an incident in the 8200 block of North Interstate 35.
Reports from the Austin Police Department show that 25-year-old Matthew McDonald was crossing Interstate 35, on foot, when he was struck by a 2016 Kenworth tractor-trailer in the middle lanes.
McDonald sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the tractor-trailer remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
