Dwight "Rob" Robinson, age 81 of Viera, Florida passed away on Monday, May 6, 2019 at Viera Hospital. He was 81 years old. Rob was born in Filmore, Indiana, and he came to Brevard County from Clearwater, Florida in 2003. He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired after 27 years of service. He was also a Christian counselor for 10 years, and a member of First Baptist Church of Merritt Island, FL.

Rob was unconditionally devoted to the Lord and his family. He loved playing golf and traveling. He was a great Bible scholar, loved his church and his Pastors and their families, praying for them daily. He also loved helping others and was a true caregiver, and the most compassionate person God ever made. He will be missed every day by his family and friends.

Rob is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joan; his son, Jay (Shelly); sister, Gwen Reynolds, her husband John. His daughter, Terri, went to be with the Lord in 2015. He is also survived by grandchildren, Denise and Rob Gaitan, and great-grandchildren, Olivia, Hailey and Matthew.

There will be a Memorial Service at First Baptist Church of Merritt Island, 140 Magnolia Ave, Merritt Island, FL on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 10:00am. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
