Arthur is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Loretta, his wife, Vesta Paul, seven siblings, George, Joe, John, Jim, Ray, Louie, and Vina, and two half brothers, Worthy and Ellis.
Arthur is Survived by a son, Herman Paul (Karen) of Doolittle, a daughter, Donna Schmickle (David) of Doolittle, five grandchildren, Stacey, Jeremy, Amber, Michelle, and Dennis, also 11 great grandchildren.
Arthur loved to fish and hunt, especially box trapping rabbits in the winter time. He loved tending to his garden, he was always known to be thumbing through a book. He loved to walk and pickup aluminum cans daily.
Arthur married Vesta Henson in 1944 and were married for 74 years. He was a faithful member & Elder for 61 years at the Newburg First Christian Church. He served his country proudly in WWII. He was decorated with nine ribbons, two bronze stars, and the Combat Infantry badge. He was a staff Sergeant in Charge of a prison enclosure in Germany. Arthur will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services for Arthur Paul will be held at the First Christian Church in Newburg with visitation on Monday, October 7th, 2019, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, funeral will be held Tuesday, October 8th, 2019, at 11:00 am. All arrangements were made under the direction of the Teague and Sons Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the either Newburg Cemetery or the First Christian Church.
