After a brief illness, the Lord called Billy Joe Lambert home at the age of 82 years old.   Billy Joe was born and raised in Jasper, Tennessee.

He dedicated 20 years of his life by serving in the United States Navy as a naval cook. He met his wife of 60 years while stationed in Japan.

After his honorable discharge, Joe returned to his beloved home in Jasper. Joe then went to work for the Town of Jasper as the Water Maintenance Supervisor for 30 years.

After his retirement, Joe spent most of his days enjoying the great outdoors, working in his yard and gardening. He was known for his love of God’s creation.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Rufus Marion and Maude Saylor Lambert; brothers, Donald, John, James and Rufus Lambert.

To treasure his memories, he leaves his wife, Kyoko Lambert; daughter, Elaine Garner (Leroy); brother, Ivan Lambert; grandchildren, Leah Ray (Kendall), Christopher Smith (Amy), Matthew Smith, and Cody Garner and great grandchildren, Riley, Layne and Keldan Smith.

The family will have the visitation on Saturday, October 5, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm CDT at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tennessee.

The funeral will be conducted in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home on Sunday, October 6, 2019 at 1:00 pm CDT.

Joe will be laid to rest at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens with a military service conducted by the Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard following the funeral service.
