Age 77, passed away, Tuesday, October 1, 2019. Connie was born, November 27, 1941, in Hutchison, Kansas the daughter of Orville and Venus (Fessenden) Shores. A Lansing and Dewitt area resident all of her life. In her later years she worked as a crossing guard in Mason. She was a former member of the Mason-Holt Eagles. Connie loved to cook and was always looking for a new recipe. She enjoyed reading, watching Lifetime, Hallmark channels and Crime Mysteries especially, Cops. What mattered to Connie the most was spending time with her loving family. A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her. Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Sims and brother, Larry VanHoff. She is survived by her loving children, Clifford (Kim) Montry, Michael (Diane) Montry, Edward Montry, Venus (Bob Rademacher) Montry, Shawn (Michael) Lennemann, Lori Montry and November (Brett) Thiel; sister, Jackie (Brad) Ruggles; many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends also survive. Funeral Services will be held, Friday, October 4, 2019, 1:00 PM at the Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Home, Holt Chapel with Pastor Steve Olmstead officiating. Interment will follow in Munger Cemetery in Eaton Rapids, MI. The family will receive relatives and friends, Thursday, October 3, 2019, from 5-7 PM at the funeral home. Visitation will continue at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Contributions can be made to the American Red Cross in memory of Connie.
