Tray Turley
JUNE 28, 1997 ~ SEPTEMBER 27, 2019 (AGE 22)

Robert Tray Turley, age 22, passed away unexpectedly on September 27, 2019.

Tray was born on June 28, 1997. He graduated from Grainger County High School in Rutledge, TN. He loved to spend his time outside hiking trails, riding four-wheelers, and building bonfires with friends and often spent time on the water kayaking and floating on the river. He was a team player, constantly involved with soccer, basketball, baseball, and even cross-country. He enjoyed spending time working on cars and trucks with his dad and papaws. He was also very compassionate about animals. He had a passion for video games and spent many hours playing online with his friends, and he hoped that one day he could become a professional gamer.

Tray was such a compassionate young man with a benevolent soul and a heart of gold who always put others first. He had the most contagious smile that could light up a room and a shining personality that could make everyone’s day better. He had a gentle, kindhearted spirit and was always trying his best to take care of others. He always had a strong work ethic and a positive attitude. He was the kind of person who would do anything for anyone without hesitation and who loved with all his heart, no matter what.

Tray is survived by parents, Catina Sarver (mother) and Rob (father) and Robin Turley (step-mother); step-sister, Faith Thomas; maternal grandparents, Gene and Wanda Furrow, and Tony Sarver, Sr.; and paternal grandparents, Danny and Darlene Turley; great-grandparents, Donald and Lois Earles and Lorene Roach; aunts and uncles, Amanda Furrow, Cassandra Cooper, and Mark and Kennetha Turley; and cousins, Kayla Cooper, Laken Kenley, Josh and Madison Turley; and many other family and friends. He also leaves behind special friends, Cody Sartorius, Jordan Harrell, Brandon Trent, Nick Diamond, Jackson Ritter, and Aaron Livingston.

The family will receive friends beginning at 6:00 pm on Friday, October 4, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 5, 2019, at Smith-Reagan Funeral Home with Pastor Stephen Gardner and Rev. Stacey Lawson officiating. Interment will follow at Grainger Memorial Gardens.
