Sherry L. Mitchell, 73, of East Moline, died Monday, March 11, 2013, at Genesis Medical Center, Davenport.

Visitation is 3 to 6 p.m. today at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Private burial will take place in the mausoleum at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Sherry Lynne Short was born Feb. 2, 1940, in Moline, the daughter of Edward and Erma Harrgis Short. She married Edward Youngs in 1959, in Rock Island. She later married Robert Mitchell on June 1, 1990, in Nashua, Iowa. He died Jan. 28, 2001.
She worked as a dental technician for Browns Dental Lab until 1983. She enjoyed all kinds of crafts.

Sherry is survived by two children, Robin and Jeffrey Bivens, Milan, and Keith Youngs and Bobbie Millwood, Rock Island; grandchildren, Garret Bivens, and Jennifer and Russell Katzenburger; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Judith Bybee, Andover, and Edward and Lola Short, Matherville; and close friends, Wendy Kirby, East Moline, and Sherry Murphy, Rock Island. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a granddaughter, Claire Youngs.
