Union Civil War veteran. He served as a wagoneer in Company G, 8th Missouri Volunteer Infantry. The son of James and Jane Bamford, he married Rebecca Wonder who served as a nurse in the Union Army. They had four children. His wife is buried next to him.JOHN BAMFORD

Born in Ohio on March 12, 1836, John Bamford served in the 8th Missouri Volunteer Infantry (US).
He married Martha Rebecca Wonder, who had been an Army nurse in the Civil War. They lived in Illinois after the War, and in the early 1870's, they left the Midwest and moved to Oregon. Two of their four children were born in Illinois, and two were born in Oregon.
John Bamford died on May 16, 1923.
