Funeral Services for Terry Wayne Porter Sr. will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 5, 2019 in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel with Reverend Jennifer Brown officiating.
Committal service will follow in the Community Cemetery in Oakdale under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Terry, 69, of Oakdale, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at 2 p.m. in the Christus St. Patrick Hospital of Lake Charles. He was born June 13, 1950 in Jasper, Alabama to Murry Porter and Mable Lee Martin Chase. He graduated from Allen High School of Oakdale and then Culinary Arts School of LSU in Baton Rouge. Terry joined the U.S. Army in 1968 where he served in the Vietnam War and became a cook for the army.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one son, Terry Wayne Porter Jr.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are: his loving wife, Maudry T. Porter of Ville Platte, La; two sons, Anthony Hawkins of Oakdale, and Wayne (Keya) Porter of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Candice Porter of Atlanta, Georgia and Jaenika Hawkins of Oakdale, La; three brothers, James (Marie) Chase of Dallas, Texas, William Dean (Barbara) Chase of Baton Rouge, La. nd Thomas Frank(Dina) Porter of Las Vegas, Nevada; one sister, Joyce Mae Porter of Oakdale, La.; four grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Pallbearers to serve will be Javonte Baltazar, Sammy Davis, Clydell Miller, Cornelius Davis, Willie Hawkins and Willie Buckley.
Visitation will be held in the white Oaks Memorial Chapel on Saturday, October 5, 2019 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m.
