Lester was born in Jeanerette, Louisiana to the union of the late Moses Harris and Ida Mae Jackson, one of three children. Harris was an Electrician and Carpenter for many years. He also loved gardening. He was married to the late former Alberta Robinson and they were blessed with eleven children.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by two children, James Harris, and Brenda Harris; two grandsons, Kenda Harris and Anthony Penns; his two siblings, Willie Philips, and Dorothy Landry and a son-in-law, Steven Edwards. Lester peacefully passed away in New Iberia, LA with his family at his side.
Lester leaves too cherish many wonderful memories; nine children, Cressia Toussaint, Anthony Harris and Rickey Simpson, all of Jeanerette, LA; Bernard Harris and Deborah Harris, both of Four Corners, LA; Theresa Harris- Archangel and Maxine Harris-Edwards, both of New Iberia, LA; Lusty Harris, Jr. of Sorrell, LA, and Christopher (Clarissa) Harris of Little Elm, TX, two foster daughters, Dorothy Jones of Baldwin, LA and Dennistine (Wilton) Landry of Washington, LA; other survivors include his 39 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren, his brothers and sisters-in-law and may other relatives and friends.
