Lillian Frances Ogle Lee, daughter of David Wesley and Lula Rayburn Ogle passed away Oct. 1, 2019. She was a long-time resident of Maury County, born Oct. 27, 1921 in Providence, Kentucky.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Edward James Lee; her sisters, Evelyn Higgins, Anne Estrada King; brothers, David Ogle, John Ogle; and her best friend and sister-in-law, Martha Wagner.

During world War II she and Martha were employed at Bell Aircraft in Marietta, Georgia, she was very proud to serve her country as Rosie the Riveter. After the war she married the love of her life when he returned home from duty in the South Pacific.

She was employee at Weather Tamer Manufacturing for 30 years starting when it was Columbia Toggs on Depot Street.

She was a long-time member of Culleoka Church of Christ and after moving to Columbia became a member of West 7th Street Church of Christ.

She enjoyed gardening, reading, fishing, and the outdoors. Her passion was traveling she loved to fly and the family joke was if there had been flight service between Culleoka and Columbia she would have signed up. Her kindness, fairness, and forgiving nature but mostly her love of her Lord and Savior has been a wonderful example to her family and friends. She lived humbly and walked with the Lord.

She is survived by her sons, David Lee, Douglas (Vickey) Lee; daughter Dianne (Ray) Messick; grandchildren, Daphine Simmons, Clinton (Elizabeth) Lee; step grandchild, Shelley (Robert) Holt of Clarksville; great grandchildren, Matthew Simmons; Caleb (Hannah) Simmons; step great grandchild, Hannah Holt of Clarksville; great great grandchildren, Justice Simmons, Trooper Simmons, Bentley Simmons, and Ryder Simmons; sisters, Dorothy Miller, Nancy Lindsey, Irene Winnard; brothers, Harlan (Gail) Ogle; Robert Ogle; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

Thank you to two very special caring, loving caregivers, Shirley Davis and Latoya Webster. Thank you to Lisa and all at Compasses Hospice.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m.at Oakes & Nichols with Jerry Elder and Harlan Ogle officiating. Burial will follow in Haynes Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 12 p. m. until service time at the funeral home.

Active pallbearers will be Clinton Lee, Matthew Simmons, Caleb Simmons, Dalton Wells, Bubba Lee, and Lontez Gibson.
