He married Charly Marie McCune on 28 August 2001, in Kitsap County, Washington.
He was an intensely loyal and devoted husband and father whose last thoughts were of the care of his family.
His first priority was eternal, the nurturing of his familys’ and friends’ faith was of utmost importance to him. His proudest moments were his sons’ baptisms and acolyte commisionings, and his work on the Evangelical Lutheran Hymnary. He firmly believed Jesus’ words, “I am the ressurection and the life. He who believes in Me though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die.” His family patiently awaits their reunion in the ressurection of the dead.
