It is with great sadness that the family of Lisa Marie Stanley-Scott announces her unexpected passing on September 24, 2019, at the young age of 51. Lisa was born in Des Moines, IA, to Rosemary Johnston. She is welcomed with open arms by her mother and her grandparents Margaret and Henry Stanley.

Loving wife, mother, and grandma. She will be forever remembered by her husband and best friend of 21 years Darryl Scott, and their daughters Raven and Ashley, grandsons Jakari and Javion, her son Robbie and granddaughters Jaelyn and Gracelyn. She will be greatly missed by her sisters Laura, Mary 'Muffy' and Kelly, her little big bro Chad, and an abundance of nieces, nephews and extended family.

Lisa enjoyed the little moments of life such as spending time with her husband watching comedy shows, playing video games with Jakari and legos with Javion, listening to music by her favorite artist Sade and Prince and cooking family favorites that only she could perfect. Lisa was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Gramma. Lisa cherished the times that she could provide help and support to others.

A lot of her happiness came from the happiness that she was able to provide to others in the simplest ways. Her beautiful smile and love for life were contagious. Lisa was a carefree and spirited soul who could light up a room and put a smile on everyone's face just by walking in. She will be sincerely missed and loved for eternity.

The moment that you died my heart was torn in two one side filled with heartache the other died with you. I often lie awake at night when the world is fast asleep, and take a walk down memory lane with tears upon my cheeks. Remembering you is easy to do it every day but missing you is heartache that never goes away. I hold you tightly within my heart. And there you will remain until the joyous day arrives that we will meet again.

A celebration of life service will take place at a later time.

Please, no flowers. Memorial donations in memory of Lisa may be made to Dunn’s Funeral Home 2121 Grand Ave. Des Moines, IA 50312.
