Lillie Belle Boyd Cobbs, 99, passed away Friday, July 6, 2007, at St. Catherine's Center. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 9, at China Spring Cemetery with the Rev. Su Milam officiating. Burial will follow at the China Spring Cemetery.

Lillie was born on the Boyd family farm at Erath, Texas. She lived a spirited, frugal, industrious life and loved gardening and playing games at the Harrison Center. As a child she always wanted a pony for Christmas, but always got a bag of fruit and nuts, which she appreciated. She worked many years at the downtown Goldstein Migel department store and later at the Fairgate Grants. She married Frank Cobbs in 1932, and they lived on McKenzie Avenue all their married lives. Her husband Frank, was a retired Waco fireman.

Lillie was preceded in death by her husband in 1973; brothers, Travis and Marshall Boyd; and her sisters, Catherine Rentz, Lucy Cobbs and Edith Boyd.

Survivors include nieces, Sarah Fenstemaker, of Granbury, Carol Boyd Sharp, of Waco, Dinah Boyd Abood of, Anchorage Alaska, Patricia Boyd Morigi, of Arlington; nephews, Stanley Rentz and Brenda Rentz Golubski, both of Waco; and many other family members and friends.
