Obituary for Lois Janice Dean
Lois Janice (Schooler) Dean of Brookfield, MO, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 29, 2019, at Life Care Center, Brookfield, Missouri. Lois was born March 9, 1934, in Jefferson City, Missouri, the daughter of Paul and Bertha (Scott) Schooler. She grew up in the Chillicothe area and attended Chillicothe schools. In July 1951 she was united in marriage to Harold Marsh and from that marriage three children were born: Dennis Marsh of Brookfield, Missouri, Joyce Tucker of Rockwall, Texas, and Doug Marsh and wife Rene’ of Apple Valley, California. The three children survive.
Lois spent her fondest working years as an aide at the Brookfield hospital. Lois loved to cook for her family. Other favorite hobbies were putting together puzzles, dancing, playing cards, and going antiquing.
She married Jack Dean of Brookfield in July 2005. He preceded her in death in 2015. Lois was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Brookfield, MO, before becoming a nursing home resident in 2014.
In addition to her children, Lois is survived by her sister, Marilyn Hodges of Cleaveland, Ohio, six grandchildren, Denise Nally, Pleasant Valley, Missouri, Ann Perry, Cowgill, Missouri, Heather Brothers, Royse City, Texas, Danny Tucker, Forney, Texas, Jamie Harper, Clarksville, Texas, and Nicole Gerstner, Canandaigua, New York, 16 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2019, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Brookfield, Missouri. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 4, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Chillicothe, Missouri.
