Ralph Mills, 76, of the Allens Creek Community, passed away peacefully at his home on September 18, 2019, surrounded by his family.
A lifelong native of Haywood County, Ralph was an Army Veteran and a member of Red Bank Baptist Church. He retired from Dayco International and Lowes Home Improvement. After retirement, he worked as a Supervisor for the Balsam Rest Areas. In his spare time, Ralph enjoyed fishing, watching Westerns and sports, and was a devoted NC State fan. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. Ralph will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by parents, Millard & Burlie Mills; his first wife, Shirley Mills who died in 1991; brother, Earl Mills; and sisters, Almarie Campbell and Betty Jenkins.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Barbara; daughter, Renee (Tim) Henson of Cruso; son, Charles Mills of Waynesville; step-daughter, Rebecca Teaster of Waynesville; step-sons, Ronnie Teaster of Waynesville and Gary Teaster of Clyde; two brothers, Ray (Lois) Mills of Waynesville and Lowell (Elaine) Mills of SC; one sister, Helen Mills of Waynesville; three grandchildren, Brittany Henson, Alyssa Teaster, and Gabrielle Teaster; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 21, 2019, at Smoky Mountain Chapel Rev Charlie Creasman and Rev Brad Joyner officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30-2:00 pm. Burial will follow services at Greenhill Cemetery.
