Mass of Christian Burial for Clarence Joseph Hess, age 57, of Muenster will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Rosary and Vigil will be held at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mr. Hess passed away on Friday, September 27, 2019.
Clarence was born in Gainesville, Texas on November 4, 1961 to Albert Justin and Agnes Margaret (Knabe) Hess. He was a lifelong resident of Muenster and the youngest of 10 children. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic School where he graduated in 1980.
Clarence followed the footsteps of some of his older brothers and relatives and started work at an early age in the oilfield. This is where he spent his career working for multiple companies and holding various positions. His last position was with Kinder-Morgan as an operations specialist. He met many people with his work and his co-workers soon became his friends.
On January 8, 1988 he married Kellye Klement Hess. Together they had two children, Chad Joseph and Brooke Nicole. He was a proud father and spoke of his children often. Clarence was especially smitten when his first and only grandchild, Micah Jr. entered the world.
On his days off he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was also known to have some very special 4-legged friends. Clarence was a kind spirit who would help anyone in need or lend an ear. He spent a lot of time on the backroads enjoying nature and the companionship of dear friend Laura "Cootie" Harrison.
Clarence is survived by daughter: Brooke Hess & Micah Bayer of Muenster; son: Chad Hess of Muenster; grandson: Micah Bayer Jr. of Muenster; sisters: Angeline and husband Cyril Yosten of Greenville, and Florence Stockard of Gainesville; and brothers: Leo Hess, Melvin Hess, and Tim Hess all of Muenster.
Clarence is preceded in death by parents: Albert and Agnes Hess; brothers: Pat Hess, Earl Hess, Virgil Hess, and Gilbert Hess; and sister-in-law: Mary Lou (Vogel) Hess.
