Christine Lee Maxwell-Byrum, 94, of Checotah, Oklahoma passed away on Monday, September 30, 2019. She was born on June 14, 1925 to Fred Thomas Cricklin and Mary (Jackson) Cricklin in Whitefield, Oklahoma. She worked with the foster grandparent program for Checotah Public Schools helping kids with their reading until her retirement in 2010.

She loved working in her yard and enjoyed spending time with her dogs, Mia and Mr. Smith. Chris loved her family very much and enjoyed taking care of them. She loved spending time with her family and her numerous grandchildren.

Chris was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Mary Cricklin; daughter, Peggy Maxwell Gragg; son, Paul Russell Maxwell; grandson, Casey Gragg; brothers, Joe and Claud Cricklin; and sister, Annie Barrow.

She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Satterfield and husband Bill of Fort Gibson, OK, Paula Hebb and husband Ron of Fort Gibson, OK, Christie Maxwell of Checotah, OK, and Tracye Fields of Big Lake, TX; sons, Danny Maxwell and wife Teresa of Muskogee, OK, and Tony Maxwell of Muskogee, OK; 61 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; special friend, Dean Chandler of Checotah, OK; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family has request memorial be made to the Alzheimer's Association at: https://act.alz.org/site/Donation.

A celebration of Chris' life will be 1:30PM, Friday, October 4, 2019 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Anita Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at Whitefield Cemetery with Barry Satterfield, Bradley Satterfield, Bryan Satterfield, Brock Hebb, Bruce Satterfield, Eric Maxwell and Colton Heath serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Kyle Maxwell, Russell Hebb, Sage Satterfield and Keaton Childs.
