Barbara "Barbie" Jean Sturgeon, age 55, of Taswell, IN passed away on Sunday September 29, 2019 at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon, IN. Barbara was born at Temple, Indiana on May 25, 1964 to Bobby Lee and Norma (Allen) Sturgeon.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bobby Lee Sturgeon on October 6, 2002, her grandparents; Sam and Hazel Sturgeon and Earl and Louisa Allen.
Barbie had been in ill health for sometime in which her mother took care of her.
Surviving Barbie is her mother Norma Surgeon of Taswell, two daughters; Amy Forbes of English and Ashley Forbes of Evansville, three grandchildren; Avari Lawson, Shelby Chanley and Laila Forbes all of English, and three great niece and nephews who she helped raise; Christian, Issaiah and Gracie Montgomery. Barbie loved her family; her face would light up when they walked through the door. She was Nana, Nannie and Aunt Barbie to her kids. Also surviving is one brother Mark Sturgeon of Orleans, three sisters; Debbie Oxley of Eckerty, Terry Andry of Birdseye and Lisa Sturgeon of English, many nieces and nephews, cousins and aunts and uncles. She will be dearly missed by them all.
Funeral services for Barbie will be Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Wickliffe Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm and on Thursday from 9:00 am until service time. Published in Clarion News, October 9, 2019 Page A 3.
