Katherine “Bonnie” Yvonne Bowie Sanders, age 77, died on August 24, 2019.
Bonnie was born and raised in Southeast D.C. She worked for Department of Social Services, loved spending time with family and a regular attendee at her church. She was also very passionate about life and made each moment count. She was a loving role model and a best friend.
She was the daughter of Ernest P. Bowie and Dora Elizabeth Baker Bowie. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her brother, Phillip Bowie
She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Akers of Waldorf, Maryland and Mindy Sanders of King George, Virginia;
Also her sisters, Mary Agnes Adams (Jean Monterio) of Rhode Island and Donna Bowie of Jessup, Maryland;
As well as her grandchildren, Sara Akers, Brittany Sanders, Joshua Akers, and Alfonso Diaz; her great grandchild, Mikylie Marie; and her nephews, James Bowie and Ernest Bowie.
