Evelyn Armstrong born June 3, 1937 to Alpheus and Johnie (Lewis) Walding, passed away Friday, September 28, 2019 in Jacksonville. She was 82 years old.
A graveside service is scheduled at 2 o’clock in the afternoon Friday, October 4, 2019 at Old Bethel Cemetery. Bro. Clifford Taylor will officiate. Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville.
Evelyn was a social butterfly who never met a stranger. She enjoyed creating with ceramics, playing dominos and 42. She was a member of the Golden Harvest Church of God in Jacksonville.
She was preceded in death by her son, Mark Grimes, five brothers and a sister.
Left to cherish her memory are her son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Andrea Grimes of Jacksonville; and sister, Gwendolyn Morris of Houston. She is also survived by her two grandsons and their wives, Matthew and Alecia Grimes and Cody and Sydney Grimes; and numerous nieces and nephews.
