Bertha Antonia Zanker and her twin sister Maria Amanda were born on 19 April 1890 in South Australia, their father, Carl, was 27 and their mother, Anna, was 25. She married Albert Carl Jorgensen on 12 October 1911 in Katyil, Victoria. They had 13 children in 20 years. She died on 6 September 1974 in Dimboola, Victoria, at the age of 84, and was buried in Dimboola Cemetery.
